Clients work in NAU Bioengineering Devices Lab in neurovascular devices and vein network models
Dr. Becker leads the Bioengineering Devices Lab (BDL) at NAU. His current research
interests are in biomedical devices, biomaterials, and vascular blood flow. Specifically,
treatment of strokes caused by aneurysms and blot clots. An aneurysm is an abnormal
enlargement or pouch that forms from a weakened vessel segment in the brain. Blood
clots can come from aneurysms or the heart and block flow in vessels of the brain. Current
research focuses on novel vessel treatment devices, such as liquid embolics and flow
diverters for aneurysms and aspiration catheters for clot removal.
